File Preview allows user to securely view the contents of backed up files directly in the CrashPlan console without needing to download them. This helps you quickly verify files and find the right version before restoring. To see File Preview, follow the steps below:
- Go to My Files in the CrashPlan console.
- Browse to the backup file or folder.
- Right-click on the file you want to preview.
- Select View to open the file in the preview window.

The following table provides the list of support file formats for preview and their description:

The following capabilities are not yet available and will be supported in the future releases:
- Failed Files Report Count Mismatch: The failed files count displayed in the exported Excel report does not always match the actual number of failed files displayed in the portal UI.
- Calculate Size Performance Issue: When calculating size for directories containing a very large number of subfolders, the operation may take an extended time to complete. In some cases, the size and file count calculation may fail to load successfully.
